About the Project

Project “Earn from the Soil” aims to diversify the South-South Nigerian economy beyond its traditional oil and gas dependency by showcasing the region’s rich agricultural potential and inviting investors to participate in sustainable farming ventures.

The South-South region of Nigeria, comprising Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, and Rivers states, possesses fertile lands and favorable climate conditions that make it ideal for various agricultural products.

By investing in these agricultural opportunities, you not only secure profitable returns but also contribute to the economic development of local communities and the environmental sustainability of the region.

Rice

  • Available in: Cross River, Delta, Edo
  • The South-South region produces high-quality rice varieties with growing demand both locally and internationally. Modern farming techniques have significantly increased yields in recent years.

Cassava

  • Available in: All South-South states
  • Cassava is a staple crop with diverse applications in food, industrial starch, and biofuel production. Its resilience to climate variations makes it a reliable investment.

Oil Palm

  • Available in: Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta
  • Oil palm thrives in the region’s climate, offering multiple revenue streams from palm oil, kernel oil, and biomass. The global demand for palm products continues to rise.

Fishery – Aquaculture

  • Available in: Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Delta
  • The region’s abundant water resources create perfect conditions for fish farming. Catfish, tilapia, and other species offer quick returns on investment.

Cocoa

  • Available in: Cross River, Edo
  • Premium cocoa varieties grow well in the region’s forest zones. The global chocolate industry’s demand for quality cocoa beans presents a lucrative opportunity.

Maize

  • Available in: Edo, Delta, Cross River
  • Maize cultivation benefits from the region’s rainfall patterns. The crop serves both human consumption and animal feed markets, ensuring steady demand.

    Community Voices is a civic engagement platform that empowers citizens in Nigeria’s South-South region to speak directly to those in power. Through open dialogue and active participation, we aim to bridge the gap between citizens and government, ensuring transparency, accountability, and inclusive development.

    An initiative of the Presidency under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration, Community Voices is designed to make sure no one is left behind in the journey toward national transformation.
